Tomlinson issues Namath-esque Guarantee

New York Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson has proclaimed that the New York Jets “absolutely” will win a Super Bowl in the next two years. Tomlinson, 31, is trying to prove skeptics wrong about how useful he can be for the Jets in 2010. San Diego decided not to offer Tomlinson a new contract when he bacme a free agent this past off season.
Several reports out of team OTA’s have stated that Tomlinson looks flat and no longer has the burst he once possessed. That doesn’t deter Tomlinson though, “I think I’m tired of being doubted by so many people about what I can’t do”, Tomlinson told reporters.
Personally, I think the Jets made a serious mistake by allowing Thomas Jones to leave and bringing in Tomlinson. Jets fan better hope that Shonn Greene can shoulder the majority of the load in 2010 and that Tomlinson is simply used sparingly.
