New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has teamed up with Don Yaeger to write his memoirs. What? Are you freaking kidding me? I understand Ryan comes from a NFL football family, but usually you write a book after you have accomplished something, like winning the Super Bowl perhaps. I understand that Rex follows in the dynamic footsteps of his father, Buddy, but with a team getting ready to make a run at a possible Super Bowl bid, would you not possibly want to wait a bit before putting pen to paper?

The Daily News article clearly states that Yeager will follow Ryan through training camp and finish the manuscript in December, and Doubleday will release the book in spring 2011. Seems to me you might want to wait until January/February to finish the manuscript, there might be an interesting final chapter.

Edwards pleaded no contest to charges of disorderly conduct after punching a friend of LeBron James at a Cleveland nightclub. The Browns shipped Edwards to the Jets just days after the altercation. It was believed that Edwards would receive at least a 1 game suspension but now sources which tell ESPN that he won’t receive a suspension, say he will most likely face a fine instead.

Disgruntled Buffalo Bills RB Marshawn Lynch is excited about the New York Jets. Lynch told ESPN’s Tim Graham, “Now that’s a team that I’m going to pick and play with on Madden. That’s real talk.” Lynch went further to say “I’m probably not supposed to say that, but I’m excited to see what the Jets are going to do, I’m real excited.”

It will be interesting to see how Bill’s head coach Chan Gailey reacts to Lynch’s comments. There is no doubt he wants out of Buffalo, (and who would blame him) and this must really tweak the Bills organization. Perhaps this is his plan all along. It won’t win him too many points in the lockerroom though.

The New York Jets have signed RB Joe McKnight, a move which now leaves only two draft picks unsigned. First round selection CB Kyle Wilson and second round pick OL Vlad Ducasse are left without contracts.

McKnight’s selection in the draft left Jets fans scratching their heads before they learned that New York had traded Leon Washington to the Seattle Seahawks.

The Jets waived three players as well. K Jared Ballman, S Brannon Condren and DT Mick Williams.

New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez finally admits he’s dating Jamie-Lynn Singer.

[picappgallerysingle id="9107984"]

Sanchez, who plays quarterback in the world’s largest media market has repeatedly denied dating actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler. The two have been linked since this spring at the Tribeca Film Festival and Sanchez reportedly denied any romantic links between the two. Sanchez no longer denies his romantic links with Ms. Sigler, and quite frankly, why would you continue to prolong any association with this woman?
